Asked Questions What is the fee to enter? The fee is $150.00 per team; regardless of how many categories you wish to compete in, with exception to the open category. Who do I make the check payable to and where do I send the money and
entry form? Make a check or money order payable to: Humble Education Foundation and mail to 8114 Sports Haven – Humble, Texas 77346. What is the registration deadline? Entry forms are encouraged to be in no later than January 31, 2008. We will accept registrations on the day of check-in provided all spaces have not been filled. When is check in and set-up? For those early birds, we will allow set up to begin at 10:00 am on Thursday – February 7, 2008. Those setting up on Friday – February 8, 2008 may begin at 8:00 am. Set up must be completed no later than 5:00 pm on February 8, 2008. How big are the spaces we will be assigned? The spaces are an approximate 30’ x 40’, or as otherwise marked, so plan your display accordingly. For an additional $150.00 you may purchase (if space is available) an additional 30’ x 40’ space, limited to 4 spaces per team. Spaces are limited however so be sure to let us know early. Will there be electricity or water hook-ups? There will be no hook-ups for motor homes or RV’s. Each team must provide water and their own generator. However, water faucets are on premises and may be used for clean-up, etc. What about restroom facilities? Indoor restroom facilities are provided under the pavilion. Please help us keep them clean. Porta-cans are provided in walk ways. For teams that wish to have their own Porta-can, they can be purchased for $75.00 each but registration must be received by the deadline date of January 31st to guarantee a Porta-can in your area. Will vehicle traffic be allowed inside cooking area during the event? NO – NO EXCEPTIONS. Due to liability risk no unnecessary vehicle traffic will be allowed in or out of the cooking area between 5:00 pm Friday, February 8, 2008 and 7:00 am, Sunday, February 10, 2008. Event staff will work with contestants to ferry needed items in or out. This prohibits not only street vehicles, but will include ATV’s, golf carts, etc – THIS WILL BE ENFORCED! Any vehicle parked outside your cook-off teams boundaries after the designated time may be towed at owner’s expense. When is check-out? Check out is Sunday, February 10, 2008. Due to on-going events on Saturday, we invite you to stay over until Sunday morning. |
